  • How we think about public spaces is shifting rapidly due to increasing population, climate protection and adaptation, and the need to reflect changing demographics. How can a design process center racially and economically diverse voices? What are transformational governance and financing opportunities that can emerge from a process focusing on defining shared values? How can these values form a context-sensitive citywide vision for open space?

Aiko Schaffer, Front and Centered/Seattle; Amy Whitesides, SToSS/Boston and emerging design leader Mariana Urgo,  Mithun San Francisco will participate in the discussion moderated by Candace Damon, HR&A Advisors/NYC.  Jescelle Major from Mithun Seattle will provide an introduction.
